Having only recently moved to British Columbia, I'm still quite struck by any clearcut I see. The truth around here is that many of the forests are either managed, meaning they only take out a very specific quantity of trees, or the clearcuts are a result of pine beetle infestations. Somehow I still find it challenging to see these beautiful forests being decimated.
